REVIVE Winter Retreat
This past weekend marked the first of three Winter Retreat weekends made possible through a partnership between Revive and the MidTexas NextGen Ministry. A big thank you to radical generosity of parents and Coker leaders who donate time and money to ensure the students can go on the retreat.
At Camp, more than 370 campers gathered from many different churches for a weekend filled with faith, friendship, worship, laughter, and life-shaping encounters with Jesus Christ. Coker students were among the 370. These campers were poured into by faithful leaders who believe deeply that discipleship is not confined to any one age—but is the sacred work of the whole Church, for the sake of generations to come.
The retreats are more than a fun winter getaway. They are a visible expression of Coker’s and the MidTexas Annual Conference’s commitment to disciple all age groups and to intentionally invest in the next generation of Christ-followers.
In the words of Bishop Leah Hidde-Gregory Conference Superintendent, MidTexas Annual Conference, “We are seeing children and youth worship with freedom, ask deep questions, pray boldly, and begin to imagine what it means to follow Jesus with their whole lives.” Bishop Leah also shared that there were more than 30 first time professions of faith and more than 20 youth said they are being called into Christian leadership.
In the following weeks we’ll visit with Pastor Clay Smallwood and some of the students from REVIVE to hear how they encountered God in the weekend. Thank you to adult volunteers, staff, camp leaders, and students for attending!
