Ready to Visit? Learn more about our Traditional Service
Our traditional service is an expression of worship that celebrates the classic heritage of Methodist worship. Liturgy, music of many generations, vibrant preaching, along with a sense of community are all a part of the traditional worship service. The Traditional service has a choir, organ, lyrics on the screens, and our clergy are dressed in traditional vestments. Sometimes the Traditional service also includes an orchestra or special music from groups like our handbell choir. It is a classic worship experience for a modern worshiping congregation. Liturgy includes The Apostles Creed, Gloria Patri, The Lord’s Prayer, Doxology Scripture Reading, and a sermon. Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month. During communion, our pastors bless the elements and communion servers break the bread and give a piece of bread to each person. The person then dips the bread in the cup and takes communion. Gluten free options are available. Livestream is available. Many people in the Traditional service also attend Sunday School at 9:30 AM. If you would like to be in a Sunday School class or group, reach out to communications@coker.org and we will get you connected with the best fit for you and your family.
