Coker Students

Our vision is to see Coker families progressing in God’s grace, helping San Antonio to realize God’s Kingdom. Our Ministry Action Plan helps us meet people so that they can believe in Jesus, grow in Christ, and go share God with the world.

At Coker, we have a place for students to find belonging and friends to navigate the ever-changing world while remaining faithful to Jesus. We equip parents so that they can disciple their student at home. Together we talk through what the Bible says and who Jesus is. We wrestle with the tough questions. We articulate the firm foundation so that as the world continues to feel like shaky ground, we can stand firm on the truth of Christ. From Coker Kids to Coker Students, we are intentional about the programs we offer and invite you into. Our Family Ministries team are not just paid staff or long-time volunteers, they are students, parents, grandparents, caregivers, professionals, and others like YOU who speak into what Students need.

Students

We have four environments that guide our ministry:

MEET

A “meet” environment is fun! It encourages students to enjoy time together and get to know one another. If your student is new to the idea of church, new to faith, or just looking to connect with others their age- a meet event is a great place to start!

BELIEVE

A “believe” environment intentionally introduces students to the good news of Jesus. Here we learn more about the character of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit through scriptures.

GROW

A “grow” environment takes us a step further and encourages students to actively choose to follow Jesus with their lives. Here we encourage students to grow deeper through spiritual practices and develop accountable relationships.

GO

A “go” environment is a place where we go and share God with the world. It’s an environment guided by the question, “Do you make disciples?” This may include serving in the community, going on a mission trip, or reaching out to a neighbor. A go initiative may include students becoming leaders to help lead other students.

Diagram

Then the circle begins again! Those who share the love of Jesus also invite others to a meet event and the love of Jesus spreads!

You can see if a Student environment is a Meet, Connect, Grow, or Go event on the event’s listing at Coker.org/Events.
