Leave It at the Well: Reflections from the Women’s Retreat
Women from across Coker gathered for our Women’s Retreat. It was a weekend of worship, rest, and time together, and many of us left changed. One of those women was Ellie Gonzales. It was her first retreat with Coker, and she felt led to share what God did in her heart.
In Ellie’s Words
“This past weekend, the Holy Spirit was present and moving at my first women’s retreat with Coker Methodist. After such a great experience, God had been calling me for days to share…
John 4 tells a great story about a Samaritan woman who has a reluctant conversation with Jesus. Afterward, she runs into the city to tell everyone she has met the Messiah, Jesus Christ.
John 4:14 says, “But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
The Samaritan woman’s encounter with Jesus at the well left her renewed, a new creation in Jesus’ name.
You are worthy. You are loved. And you, too, can leave everything from your past at the well.”
Ellie shared more in a video on her social pages, but wants all to know you are worthy and you are loved.
There’s a Place for You
Ellie’s story is a reminder of what can happen when we make space to meet Jesus. Whether you’ve been part of Coker for years or are just getting connected, our Women’s Ministry is a place to find community, grow in faith, and be reminded that you are worthy and loved.
We’d love for you to join us at our next gathering. For more information, contact Cheryl Kendall at cheryl.kendall@coker.org or visit Coker.org/Events.
