School will be back in session early August and for kiddos and teens that means school supplies will be needed. Our food pantry clients can sign-up to receive backpacks, but donations are needed from the congregation!
The efforts this year will be led by Crystal Voigt, she explains, “We are going to do a similar “Flood Bucket” where the congregation can either make a backpack and bring to drop off or they can just purchase the supplies needed and drop them off. We will do two different backpacks elementary and middle/high school. The supplies are very similar and only a few more for the upper level backpacks (middle and high school) so this should make it easier for collection, assembly and distribution. DATES TO REMEMBER:
May 29- June 19: Sundays: Volunteer sign up for all aspects of backpack (Sign-Up in the Gazebo or e-mail Crystal at firstname.lastname@example.org)
June 26-July 17: We will have a table on Sundays for collecting supplies along with a bucket in church office for during the week collection.
July 23rd: 10 am – noon – Assembly of Backpacks (gym)
July 27th: 5-9 pm Assembly of backpacks (gym) and taking backpacks down to H&W ready for distribution
July 29th: Friday from 9-Noon: distribution
