Rev Adam Thornton | לעשות כמה שיותר טוב
Pastor Adam Thornton from Dripping Springs Methodist Church visited Coker for the awakening in February 2025, and is a longtime friend of our pastors. Adam’s son has also played in our 9:30 AM worship band. Rev Thornton was on sabbatical in Israel in June 2025, when the war between Israel and Iran escalated. According to a gentleman from Netanya, rather than live in despair, Rev Thornton “לעשות כמה שיותר טוב” which translates into, “to do the most good possible.” Rev Thornton worked alongside David Nekrutman and the Isaiah Project to “provide life-saving equipment to the search and rescue teams, security to Kibbutz Kerem Shalom, farming equipment to Alumim, and beehives to Erez,” and more.
The Bible shares that as the day of Jesus draws closer, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains” Matthew 24:7-8 NIV. As Christians we are to, “Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm…” James 5:7-8 NIV
Rev Thornton was in an unexpected situation and simply looked at the needs surrounding him, and decided to shine the light of Jesus moment-by-moment.
