Dear Coker Family,
I’m sure you have been watching or, at least, keeping up with the flooding in Kerrville and the surrounding area. Our friends and neighbors in the area need our prayers and support during this tragic time of natural disaster. I am asking you all to lift the area and its people in prayer and ask that Jesus would protect them, comfort them and literally bring peace to the storm. Remember, our God is the very God who walked on water and calmed the winds and the rain (Matthew 14:22-33, Mark 4:35-41). Let us all pray that He would again bring calm in this storm, protection for those still unaccounted for, and perseverance for all of the responders.
On Sunday we will be handing out supply lists for flood buckets in all Coker worship services. This flooding has stretched as far north as San Angelo and I have been hearing from churches that they are in need of flood buckets for their communities. We will have the supply lists and ask you to put the flood buckets together during the week and bring them back to Coker where we will work with the conference and the churches to get them to the people who need them.
Thank you for what you do. Coker is church that believes in the miraculous work of prayer and in a time like this, we have prayer work to do.

Querida familia de Coker,
Estoy seguro de que han estado viendo o, al menos, siguiendo las noticias sobre las inundaciones en Kerrville y las áreas circundantes. Nuestros amigos y vecinos en esa región necesitan nuestras oraciones y apoyo durante este trágico momento de desastre natural. Les pido a todos que eleven en oración a esta área y a su gente, y que pidan a Jesús que los proteja, los consuele y traiga paz en medio de la tormenta. Recuerden, nuestro Dios es el mismo que caminó sobre el agua y calmó los vientos y la lluvia (Mateo 14:22-33, Marcos 4:35-41). Oremos todos para que Él nuevamente traiga calma en esta tormenta, protección para los que aún no han sido encontrados, y fortaleza para todos los socorristas.
Este domingo estaremos repartiendo listas de suministros para los cubos de emergencia (flood buckets) en todos los servicios de adoración en Coker. Estas inundaciones han llegado tan al norte como San Angelo, y he estado escuchando de iglesias que necesitan estas ayudas para sus comunidades. Tendremos las listas disponibles y les pediremos que armen los cubos durante la semana y los traigan de regreso a Coker, donde trabajaremos con la conferencia y las iglesias para entregarlos a quienes los necesiten.
Gracias por todo lo que hacen. Coker es una iglesia que cree en el poder milagroso de la oración, y en tiempos como este, tenemos trabajo de oración por hacer.
