Bella Duke, Lay Delegate Representing the MidTexas Conference at the 2026 General Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa

Two of our values in the Coker Student Ministry are: serving in the name of Jesus and leaders led by the Holy Spirit. A value of the Mid-Texas Conference of the Global Methodist Church (which is the area that Coker falls into) is to have multiple generations speaking into the direction of Global Methodist Churches. The Global Methodist Church also values the discernment and direction from clergy (clergy=pastors) and lay delegates (lay=those within the church).

Bella Duke is one of our Coker students and is known and loved by many of us! Bella is a gifted leader and felt stirred to submit a self-nomination to be one of the lay delegates, representing the MidTexas Conference, at the General Conference of The Global Methodist Church in Johannesburg, South Africa August 30 – September 5, 2026. After prayer, consideration, and a vote, Bella was selected to be one of the lay delegates alongside others from many ages and stages in life.

We are so proud of Bella’s willingness to raise her hand and say “Send me.” We are also thankful that the leadership committee discerned that Bella is a leader and will be a valued voice on behalf of Coker, The MidTexas Conference, and the Global Methodist Church.

Please be in prayer for Bella and all delegates who will be in South Africa in August-September 2026.

Dos de nuestros valores en el Ministerio Estudiantil de Coker son: servir en el nombre de Jesús y líderes guiados por el Espíritu Santo. Un valor de la Conferencia Mid-Texas de la Iglesia Metodista Global (que es el área donde está Coker) es tener múltiples generaciones hablando sobre la dirección de las Iglesias Metodistas Globales. Después de oración, consideración y una votación, Bella fue seleccionada para ser una de las delegadas laicas junto con otros de muchas edades y etapas de la vida.
