Days, Times, Location: Tuesdays- Jan 19th-Mar 9th, 3:30 PM, Online: Zoom
Materials: Required book – On the Side of the Poor by Gustavo Gutierrez (2015)
Overview: In this 7-week study, participants will be introduced to the basics of liberation theology from one of its originators and leading theologians, Gustavo Gutierrez. Liberation theology, which came to light in the 1960’s, examines the Scriptures through the experience of society’s downtrodden and often forgotten economically poorest people, giving them a voice on many of the Bible’s teachings of the least, the last and the lost.
