In the words of Pastor Adam Knight, “…80-85% of churches in the US are in decline and thousands of churches will be closed this year. In the midst of that Coker is standing up and saying, not on our watch!! We will make disciples wherever God opens a door because we don’t seek the transformation of our church – we seek the transformation of our city and our world. We will grasp on to the authority of God that has been shared with us by Jesus Christ to go and make disciples, wherever he calls us to go.” It is our responsibility to set up and equip Christian leaders for our city and beyond.

In the fall of 2019, Coker launched the Coker Leadership Institute in partnership with Asbury Theological Seminary. Pictured here are leaders from Coker and across San Antonio are on a yearlong journey to becoming better leaders in Christ.

We are prayerful that this is the beginning of a long-lasting partnership between Coker and Asbury Theological Seminary where we offer multiple adult leadership classes and continue equipping others who will share the message of Jesus Christ and draw people into a closer walk with him, because it is our responsibility.
