#IAmAtCoker is where we highlight those people who are at Coker and invite you to hear their hearts for God and for one another….Earlier in 2020, we met with Sean Boyd, who serves in our multi-media department (through AV operations & video story-telling), and here’s what he had to say:
How long have you called Coker home?
I have served at Coker over 2.5 yrs or more and learned the culture of the Methodist Church. Coming from a Pentecostal background it was different because I’m used to people moving there feet or body while in worship. The Holy Spirit stirs movement naturally! Over the past couple of years I’ve seen some improving signs & worship expressions.
Where have you felt the Holy Spirit within Coker?
When Pastor Adam feels that a certain sermon series needs to be focused on. When we all turn our eyes to one subject (like “Letter to the Hebrews). Also addressing racial reconciliation and equality means a great deal to me. Having a diverse church is a plus.
How have you connected with God and how have you connected with others?
I Love to Serve…!!!! With the youth, In kitchen during Mana, or OUTREACH, Mission trips, and development of young people. When I interviewed the youth, I could see their hearts. I was on camera, behind the scenes in communications ministries interviewing them during mission trip and while videoing I could see their love for God. That is where I see the most blessings and I love it.
P.S. I rap too!
