My name is Julie Hilton and I have been a member of Coker for the past 25 years. I am an Administrative Assistant in the Microbiology Department at UT Health- San Antonio. I have helped out in the Children’s Ministry and Youth departments. I am part of the Coker Emmaus community.
I have always gone to church but never really knew what being part of a church family is all about. I had been involved on Sunday mornings but never really anytime else. A former pastor at Coker said I needed to do Mid-week Manna and get involved in a Bible study to strengthen my faith journey. Every since that time, I have done Bible studies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I still felt like my life wasn’t complete. A year ago I joined the B.A.S.I.C. Sunday school class and have never felt more blessed in my life. Our class started out with only a few members. Over the last several months, we have grown to 20 members strong and still growing. We are “busting at the seams in our current room.” This group of individuals knows what it means to bless others and reach out to those who may be lost. To say I am blessed beyond measure at this church is truly an understatement. I look forward to what God has planned for Coker’s future.
