Youth Confirmation | February 2021 (Start Date TBD)
Time TBD | Online Via Zoom

The middle school years are when young people begin to move from concrete thinking to abstract thinking and is when many people begin to make lifelong faith decisions. During these middle school years youth are seeking a sense of belonging. Belonging to a community of faith is an appropriate response to that developmental task. Coker has arms open to any 8th graders (and any 9th-12th graders who have not yet been confirmed) to join us for the Spring 2021 Confirmation Class where they can solidify their beliefs and profess faith or rededicate their lives to God. Coker wraps our arms around all of our confirmands and continues to walk with them in their faith growth. Confirmation Class will begin in February- exact date, TBD; classes will be offered via Zoom.

On June 9, 2018, a new Child, Youth, and Vulnerable Adult safety policy and accompanying procedures went into effect for ALL Rio Texas Churches (including Coker UMC). Every adult who works with children, youth, and/or vulnerable adults (Staff, Volunteer, Clergy, or Lay) must be certified through the new TRUSTed con Confianza certification process. This includes but not limited to those who volunteer with the food pantry, Eagle Pass, ERT, mission trips etc.  If you fall into any of these categories please contact Mario Garcia at for more information to get trained.
