IGNITE SUNDAY Mornings (In-Person)
Age:          Grade 6-Grade 12
Meets:      Sanctuary 9:30 & Gym 11 AM

Coker Youth are invited to sit with their family or sit with the youth group during 9:30 AM Worship in the Sanctuary. After 9:30 AM worship, head to the Gym at 11 AM for fellowship, a lesson and small group (light breakfast will be served as well). Our goal is to create a safe space to have fun, make and enjoy friendships, interact with loving adult mentors, create an environment that allows for worship, and dig into the Bible. If you are new to Coker, e-mail Syndey Twichell and let her know your youth will be there so she can greet them!

Wednesdays

Youth Choir | 5 PM
All youth, girls AND guys in grades 6-12, are welcome in the Youth Choir Wednesdays at 5 PM (Fall Youth Choir Begins Sept 1st). We are a smaller ensemble, but we sing challenging music in 2 and 3 parts. The Youth Choir meets in person in the Sanctuary every Wednesday and sings live in worship about once a month. Dinner (Midweek Manna) | 5:30 PM
Students are invited to join at the Coker Youth table in the gym for Mid-Week Manna dinner at 5:30 PM on Wednesdays (note: last midweek manna dinner for Spring 2022 will be April 13). After dinner all will head to Youth Night Live. Dinner is $5 for adults and $2 for kids 10 and under. RSVPS must be in by noon on the Monday before. Reservations can be made online HERE

All Youth! Middle School-High School, join us Wednesday evenings for worship and a program that allows youth to dig deeper into the word of God. Evenings will include live worship courtesy of the Jaron Touhey Band, new fresh youth sermon series’, small group discussions where Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers will separate and dig deeper into our lessons, special guest speakers, and various fun activities, prizes and giveaways. Coker Youth Night Live Sermon Series: ‘Identity Theft’ Series.
May 11th, and 18th | 6:30 PM

We will be starting our new series titled ‘Identity Theft’ where we explore the complexities of identity and how we can figure out who we are to Christ, and in this world. For details, contact Sydney.Twichell@coker.org

Youth Wednesday Night Live Sermon Series: ‘The Devil is a Liar’ Series
May 25th & June 1st | 6:30 PM

On May 25th, our Wednesday night youth group will be starting our new series titled, ‘The Devil is Liar’ where we address the many lies of the enemy, and learn how the Bible instructs us to handle these lies and deception. For more information contact Sydney.Twichell@coker.org

May 4th- Star Wars Family Night- 5:30 PM
On May the 4th we will be gathering together in the gym for a Star Wars family day starting at 5:30pm. There will be dinner, music, and a costume contest followed by a message titled: Join the Rebellion – Rebelling against Modern Culture. Families are welcome to stay for the message.

Youth Girl’s Breakfast Club | May 7th
10:30 AM | Barnes & Noble La Cantera

Youth girls, 7th-12th grade are invited to join a breakfast club meet-up! Bring money to purchase breakfast and be prepared to dive into The Word of God and conversations. Contact Sydney.Twichell@coker.org to let her know you will be there!

May 15th- The Rock Slinger and His Greatest Hit- 3 PM
Starring our own children’s and youth choirs.
Sunday, May 15 at 3:00 in the sanctuary.
Come enjoy this musical adaptation of a beloved story, David and Goliath.
Afterwards enjoy a delicious ice cream social in the gym

July 26th-30th – Youth Revive Summer Camp
Join us at REVIVE summer camp where youth will discover, deepen, and develop their relationship with Jesus Christ. This Spirit – filled, Jesus centered week long Christian summer camp is for both middle school and high school, July 26th – 30th at Camp Buckner near Burnet, Texas.
You can register your youth online HERE. Note: Between now and July, there will be opportunities for the youth to do various fundraisers to put funds toward their trip.

Volunteers

On June 9, 2018, a new Child, Youth, and Vulnerable Adult safety policy and accompanying procedures went into effect for ALL Rio Texas Churches (including Coker UMC). Every adult who works with children, youth, and/or vulnerable adults (Staff, Volunteer, Clergy, or Lay) must be certified through the new TRUSTed con Confianza certification process. This includes but not limited to those who volunteer with the food pantry, Eagle Pass, ERT, mission trips etc.  If you fall into any of these categories please contact Mario Garcia at mario.garcia@coker.org for more information to get trained.
