Our Mission
“ To create a safe and irresistable environment that loves students in the name of Jesus and leads them to love others in the same way”
Sunday Mornings
IGNITE SUNDAY Mornings
Age: Grade 6-Grade 12
Meets: 9:15-10:40 AM, Gym
Contact: Colton Willis (colton.willis@coker.org)
Our goal is to create a safe space to have fun, make and enjoy friendships, interact with loving adult mentors, create an environment that allows for worship, and dig into the Bible. We start off with fellowship, then move into a time of worship, followed by a lesson, small group discussions, and worship to close. After our large worship session, there will be three small groups 6th/ 7th, Confirmation, and High School small groups.
Confirmation
Age: Grade 8 – Grade 12
Meets: 9:30-10:30 AM, Gym Classroom 401
Contact: Colton Willis (colton.willis@coker.org)
Confirmation celebrates our students when they are ready to formally make a commitment to the life of the church. This class is open to all interested students. Through teaching of Old and New Testament surveys, Church history, and worship we explore what it means to be a follower of Jesus as United Methodist Christians. We celebrate our students in May at a special Confirmation Reception, joined by their parents, mentors and members of the church. They are received publicly in worship on Confirmation Sunday in May.

Volunteers
On June 9, 2018, a new Child, Youth, and Vulnerable Adult safety policy and accompanying procedures went into effect for ALL Rio Texas Churches (including Coker UMC). Every adult who works with children, youth, and/or vulnerable adults (Staff, Volunteer, Clergy, or Lay) must be certified through the new TRUSTed con Confianza certification process. This includes but not limited to those who volunteer with the food pantry, Eagle Pass, ERT, mission trips etc. If you fall into any of these categories please contact Cheryl Kendall, cheryl.kendall@coker.org for more information to get trained.
