Classes for Adults - 9:30
All those who have joined or are considering joining Coker are invited to this four week course to explore the history and denominational structure of Methodism, to investigate the sacraments of baptism and communion, to discover what it really means to support the church with prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness, to discuss the social principles of Methodism as found in the Book of Discipline, and to find their place at Coker in order to continue the long history of Christian service, growth, and development.
Couples and singles with children and grandchildren. Bible studies interspersed with studies of Christian issues. Share teaching; guest speakers. Mission minded, service oriented. Monthly fellowships. Annual retreat.
Biblical principles for raising families today. Lessons from books of the Bible and/or Bible-themed principals to encourage sharing of individual insights and the application of scriptures to the challenges facing today's families. Monthly family activities. Occasional adult fellowships. Ministry outreach and home group studies.
Mixed ages, couples and singles. Bible studies and contemporary issues. Rotate teaching/discussion leadership. Regular social events. Annual retreat.
Couples/singles of all ages welcome. Discussion of Biblical themes and contemporary issues center on enrichment of our daily spiritual walk. Opportunities for fellowship and outreach ministry.
Mixed group of active adults. Rotate teachers, using contemporary works and Bible to equip us for Christian living. Prayer, lively discussions build great sense of community. Support Habitat for Humanity, Christian Assistance Ministry, Food Bank, and Mission Outreach projects.
We are the Lost Sheep. Come find your way with us on Sunday mornings. Join us for lively discussion and Christian fellowship. You don't have to prepare. There is no book to buy. You don't have to teach unless you want to. Most of us have teen-aged kids, and we all have busy lives with full schedules. Our class may be just what you need. Check us out. All are welcome!
Couples/singles, all ages welcome. Our purpose is "to deepen our faith through a better understanding of the Bible and fellowship with fellow Christians." Scripturally-based studies with lively discussion. New Spirit supports the Junction Cabin of Roy Maas' Youth Alternatives and the Coker Food Pantry.
Largest adult class. Mature adults, singles and couples. Lessons are wide-ranging and varied. Guest speakers and members teach. Hospitality and socials are important. Annual retreat.
Couples and singles of varied ages--seekers of understanding, exploring our faith, church, and everyday life. Discussions of Bible and Christianity in our daily lives. Active fellowship provides a place of belonging and support. Visitors always welcome.
Senior adults. Use International Bible Study series. Teachers alternate. Great fellowship and mutual support. Many socials.
Women of all ages and stages of life. Lessons follow the weekly Lectionary scripture text using the Upper Room Discplines or topical studies, with special studies for Advent and Lent. Small group discussion and sharing prayer joys and concerns. Occasional social activities.
